Portfolio Manager is the EPA’s online platform for benchmarking buildings. It is commonly used to store building information, track utility data, and support local reporting requirements.
If your property needs to be benchmarked, this is usually where the process begins.
It helps to have the following ready:
the building owner or main account contact information
your building address
a secure place to save your login information
You do not need every building detail before creating the account. The main goal here is simply to get your account established.
Visit the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager website and select the option to create a new account.
Enter your basic contact information and create your username and password.
Be sure to save your login information somewhere secure so it can be used later for property setup and account sharing.
Follow the prompts to finish creating the account. Once the account is active, you will be ready to begin adding your property information.
Once your account is created, Evergreen can help you with the next steps, including:
adding the property correctly
setting up utility data
sharing access
preparing for city-specific reporting steps
After your account is created, the next step is usually adding your property and entering the core building details.
